With the SMS-1 you can get rid of the ART Cleanbox Pro, it won't be necessary as the SMS-1 will supply all the gain that is needed. All the subs carry the same signal so that is why they must be EQ'ed as one. Some people think that Audyssey EQ's the subs separately but that is not true, they only set the distance (phase) and levels separately but EQ the subs as one which is the correct way to do it. Audyssey does have the new SubEQ in XT32 capable receivers and pre-pro's with dual sub outs. If you have 1 or 10 subs in a 5.1 channel system the subs all work together so should be EQ'ed together. Polarity and phase can be different so that the multiple subs don't cancel each other out but they should be EQ'ed as a whole, not individually. With 2 eq.2's you will have 2 different EQ corrections for each sub, this is not the correct way to do it. Personally I would just find the best HPF that works for both subs, I don't think there is a big enough difference between a 10 and 15hz hpf to justify the expense.
SUBSONIC FILTER DRIVER
It's a win-win situation for the amp, the driver and my sanity.Click to expand. The SMS-1 has 3 RCA out and a single XLR out but they all contain the same signal. Now with this said, excessive woofer pumping isnt good either and will degrade the sonics - so you do need to decide which to address. This will also keep me from wasting precious amp power trying to reproduce anything below (practically useless anyways), which translates into less energy consumption and less heat = amp longevity. A subsonic filter is not transparent because it needs passive or active parts to function and the signal has to pass through it. In either case, it would seem that filtering this before the signal hits the amp stage is going to not only be better, but easier on the wallet. I'm a computer programmer in Melbourne Australia. Try Elliott Sound Products for more projects. If you want to feel the 15Hz notes when they arise then you could be shorting yourself.
SUBSONIC FILTER MOVIE
Ideally you’ll have only pure, clean bass from the subwoofer and hear music or movie sound. Once you’ve set it, adjust slowly and listen for what sounds the best to you. I cannot say that you NEED a filter, but it does somewhat depend on your music tastes. A good rule of thumb for a home stereo subwoofer low pass filter (LPF) setting is 70 to 80Hz. Both DSE and Jaycar Electronics would have kits of Rob Evan's Subwoofer Processor (which only has a 6dB/oct subsonic filter if memory serves me well). Subsonic filters are good for keeping the wattage of the amp powering the frequencies you want powered, and not wasting power trying to reproduce very low frequencies.
SUBSONIC FILTER PRO
I'm farther ahead whether I build my own pre-amp filter or use something like a Behringer Ultragain Pro MIC2200 ($100). Making a subsonic filter is very easy, especially if you go the kit route. To remove this unwanted low frequencies, subsonic filters like the circuit featured here is used. This happens independent of the applied recording medium. The PE version of the BASH amp - based on the table for altering the resistor values, and the stated original values in. Most often, the very low frequencies create distorsions in music recording or reproduction. Although the O-Audio 500 Watt BASH has an adjustable subsonic filter, a very nice feature that allows you some extra extension compared to the other amps out there, dont expect sub-20 performance from most other plate amps. After seeing the values needed for a 35Hz filter and trying to find inductors and caps that are even close to what I'd need, the cost would be non-beneficial. A subsonic filter is mostly used in low frequency technology. But I was thinking it would be cheaper to design a post-amp filter as opposed to pre-amp. Passive crossovers aren't exactly known to be efficient. I do agree that it's best to put the filter on the pre side of things as opposed to post-amp. The Q of the filters has been optimised to allow a higher input impedance than would otherwise be possible, with the final Q of the two filters being almost exactly 0.707 (i.e. While xlim is really more of the concern, it's better safe than sorry. While often referred to as subsonic, the correct terminology is infrasonic subsonic means slower than the speed of sound, 343m/s). Modeling for my cab shows this driver will reach xmax at 31.59Hz with a 400 watt signal. In this video I show you everything you need to know about subsonic (a.k.a. It is quite possible to send subharmonics through the cab with an ill placed slap or pop. The subsonic filter is used to protect your subwoofer from. If you are trying to find 65hz, just start cutting things in half. Somewhere from 50hz to 65hz is likely where you are going to want your crossover set. If 30hz seems too low, you can bring it up some. Click to expand.Well for 1, synth may very well find it's way to this cab. Since you are tuned to 35hz, you can set the filter around 30hz to 35hz.
